ORIFLAME CHINA

Oriflame Cosmetics is a Swedish direct selling company, listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The worldwide turnover this is estimated to exceed one billion euro in 2007. The main markets are eastern Europe and the CIS. Oriflame China was established in 2004 and the direct sales license was obtained in September 2006.

Björn Holmsen was responsible for establishing Oriflame in China, including getting the direct sales license. He now serves as a senior advisor on China to Oriflame. Before joining Oriflame, Mr Holmsen ran an ERP project for Electrolux in Australia, served as their CFO in South Africa, and as Controller for the Sales Company in China between 1995 and 2000. He was also stationed at their European HO in Belgium for two years.

Björn Holmsen has a BA in Oriental languages from Stockholm University, majoring in Japanese, and a Masters in Business Administration from Stockholm School of Economics. He studied at Keio Business School in Japan in 1994 and at the Beijing Normal University from 1989 to 1991 and is fluent in Chinese.
