DAEWON HONG
KOREA FAIR TRADE COMMISSION
Mr. Hong is a division-director level government official of Korea Fair Trade Commission, KFTC. He passed the 37th Korea Higher Civil Service Examination in 1993 and has worked at the Consumer Protection Bureau and the Competition Policy Bureau of KFTC.
When he was working at the Consumer Protection Bureau, he established the dispute resolution organization for direct selling and made working manuals for law enforcement in direct selling industry. He was also involved in the establishment and management of the direct selling mutual aid associations.
He graduated Yonsei University in Seoul for bachelor's degree in sociology. He got his master's degree at Graduate School for Public Administration of Seoul National University and the Graduate School for Public Policy of Saitama University in Japan.
From January 2007, he has been doing research on consumer protection and competition policy issues as a visiting scholar at the George Washington University, Washington DC, USA. |
